Position Title: Licensed Therapist/Training Director

LICENSED THERAPIST/TRAINING DIRECTOR POSITION

 

About NewPath:

NewPath Mental Health Services (formerly known as Christian Recovery Counseling) is a Rule 29 nonprofit community mental health clinic. Our agency specializes in treating issues of trauma, neglect and abuse, however, we also provide generalist mental health services for a variety of presenting concerns including, but not limited to, mood disorders, adjustment, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, and identity concerns. Additionally, we have a robust and effective intensive outpatient program treating men who have engaged in sexual offenses or harmful sexual behaviors (the Restoration Project).  NewPath Mental Health Services is an agency that embraces our clients’ spiritual or faith backgrounds, and, if clients choose to do so, we honor their desire to bring this element of their experiences into therapy.

 

Licensed Therapist/Training Director:

We are seeking a licensed mental health professional/training director to join our team of therapists working full time in our Golden Valley office. This position is primarily clinical (approximately 20 client hours per week) but also includes supervision (approximately 4 hours per week) and administrative (approximately 6-8 hours per week) responsibilities (remaining time each week is devoted to consultation and case management).

 

Clinical Duties: The therapist who accepts this position will be expected to have approximately 20 available client hours per week and to work at least one evening per week (until 8-9pm) or weekend day. In this role you will build and maintain a caseload while designing and implementing treatment/interventions reflective of identified client needs.

 

Supervision Duties:  The therapist who accepts this position will supervise approximately 3-4 unlicensed therapists (interns or unlicensed employees). This will include in-person supervision, review of unlicensed therapist notes and clinical files, and consultation to supervisees as needed.

 

Administrative Duties: The therapist who accepts tis position will be expected to spend approximately 6-8 hours per week conducting administrative tasks. These include:

  1. Coordinating and overseeing NewPath’s internship program. Review of intern applicants, interviewing intern candidates, and selecting intern candidates with input from Clinical Director.

  2. Ensure agency Rule 29 compliance. Plan and coordinate speakers for monthly CEU seminars and coordinate yearly internal agency audit.

 

Other duties include: maintaining organized electronic out-patient records in accordance with treatment policy requirements; attending and participating in clinical staff case consultation meetings; and following NewPath's policies and procedures.

Ideal candidate is:

  • Licensed Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota.

  • Must have completed graduate degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or mental health counseling.

  • Experience conducting clinical supervision.

  • Board-approved supervisor with respective board based on licensure.

  • Administrative skills- organization, dependable follow-through, timeliness, etc.

  • Generalist practitioner comfortable working with a range of psychological concerns.

  • Experienced with clients presenting with trauma or abuse.

  • Comfortable working in a Christian environment with clients who are seeking to incorporate their faith into psychotherapy.
