Some thoughts from Steve Arterburn, Fred Stoeker, and Mike Yorkey’s “Every Man’s Battle” compiled by David Vraza MA.
Many Christians are comforted by the promised of Jesus, “Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). And many of us are distressed that pornography seems to be making the same promise to us in our age. Our world is awash in images of women, either scantily clothed or naked, always smiling, always available. Sexual stimulation is only a few clicks away on your phone. It is nearly impossible to set a firm and healthy boundary without some kind of accountability. The line between resistance and giving in to feel good is a matter of seconds before the hook is set and you are going down.
Is your heart drawn toward the pseudo-intimacy of images of beautiful women gazing into a camera? We get it. They are powerful images. But what do they really deliver? Come and join us on Monday nights. We need a community to pull back the veil and be honest about how we might succeed or fail in fulfilling our heart’s deepest desires.
