She has experience working with a forensic population, severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), group therapy, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual identity, social justice, advocacy, and self-esteem issues.
Vickie believes that every individual has worth and dignity and is committed to helping clients reach goals and challenge any obstacles they may encounter. Throughout Vickie’s journey in mental health, she has become adept at building rapport and understanding the needs of her clients. Her passion for working in the field came from a desire to help people improve their lives without judgement. Vickie relies on the biopsychosocial approach to understand the dynamics of each individual client. She utilizes various therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), prolonged exposure therapy, person-centered, strength-based, narrative, solution-focused, and guided meditation.
Vickie welcomes spiritual beliefs in the therapeutic process. In her free time, she loves to try new recipes and spend time with family and friends.
