Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

What is it?

ART is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that utilizes back-and-forth eye movements to help you address common problems such as depression, anxiety, phobias, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

ART helps you use your own strengths and problem-solving abilities to reprogram the way in which distressing images and memories are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions.

While you focus on a distressing problem, ART’s eye movements, similar to the eye movements that occur during dreaming, tend to relax you and help your brain do the work of problem-solving.

If I think it would be helpful, what should I do next?

If you are already established with a therapist, please consult with your therapist first. If your therapist is trained, ART can be incorporated into your treatment plans. If you are not currently connected to a therapist, please reach out to our Client Services Coordinator to ask any questions you may have and share your interest in being connected with a therapist trained in ART.
