BA, St. Olaf College

Brendan is a therapy practicum student entering his third year at Augsburg University's Clinical Psychology (PsyD) doctoral program. Prior to this education, he earned his MA in Clinical Psychological Science and his BA in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience. He has experience working with a range of clients, including children, adolescents, and adults in treatment and assessment. He has also provided psychological treatment for criminal-justice-involved teens.

His clinical interests include working with individuals involved in the justice system, especially as they seek to better their lives post-conviction. Additionally, Brendan enjoys working with children, teenagers, and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma. He seeks to walk alongside these clients and promote a growth-oriented, relational approach in therapy. The primary techniques he uses are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Positive Psychology.

In his free time, Brendan enjoys playing sports, drinking coffee with friends, and reading. As a lifelong Minnesotan, he likes attending Timberwolves and Wild games and discussing sports. He also maintains an active role in his church, serving as a high school small group leader with friends.

Brendan is providing counseling services at NewPath under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Hovey, a board-approved supervisor.
