Position Title: Contracting Psychiatrist

NewPath Mental Health Services (formerly known as Christian Recovery Counseling) is a Rule 29 nonprofit community mental health clinic. While our agency specializes in treating issues of trauma, neglect and abuse, we also provide generalist mental health services for a variety of presenting concerns including, but not limited to, mood disorders, adjustment, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, and identity. Additionally, we have a robust and effective intensive outpatient program treating men who have engaged in sexual offenses or harmful sexual behaviors (the Restoration Project). NewPath Mental Health Services is an agency that embraces our clients’ spiritual or faith backgrounds, and, if clients choose to do so, we honor their desire to bring this element of their experiences into therapy.

 

We are seeking a psychiatrist to join our team of therapists working part-time in our Golden Valley office, or via telehealth . The psychiatrist who accepts this position will be available no less than 4 hours per month . In this role, the psychiatrist will work with therapists on staff (social workers, marriage and family therapists, and licensed professional clinical counselors) as needed in the delivery of clinical care. This will include providing professional psychiatric expertise, consultation, and knowledge regarding psychological care, and medication  management. 

 

Ideal candidate is:

  • A medical doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)

  • Completion of a psychiatry residency

  • Current Minnesota State Medical Licensure

  • Skilled working with a range of psychological diagnoses and concerns including SPMI, trauma, and abuse

  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative clinical team

  • Comfortable working in a Christian environment with clients who are seeking to incorporate their faith into psychotherapy
