Ryan is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who has been with us since 2013. He has a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Forensic Counseling and sees clients in NewPath Mental Health Services' Golden Valley office as well as does Telehealth. A Minnesota native and outdoor enthusiast, Ryan believes in a therapeutic approach that combines both the client’s values and beliefs with an objective and honest technique. Ryan also believes that the rapport built between the therapist and the client is one of the biggest factors in the success of a client’s recovery and growth. 

 

Ryan has extensive experience in working with adults and adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar, attachment disorders, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, sexual addictions, substance abuse, and other impulse-control disorders. He also has experience working with grief, anger management, issues around sex and intimacy, trauma, and harmful sexual behaviors. Ryan has an interest in meeting clients where they are spiritually and if interested, would assist in helping them strengthen their faith.

 

Ryan utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral (CBT), EMDR, person-centered, narrative, solution-focused, emotional-focused, psychodrama, Psychodynamic, and existential therapy. Ryan is a member of the Minnesota Counseling Association.
