Wilson quotes the famous phrase, “neurons that fire together wire together … our brains are plastic. The truth is that we are always training our brains … porn users to move from genre to genre, often arriving at places they find personally disturbing and confusing.” Addiction is a form of learning. Repeated stimulus changes the brain. Chronic overconsumption of sexual novelty hijacks the rewards system and sets the brain on to a highly motivated pursuit of “more.”
