Men living in a sexually charged culture are struggling. Fred told his story straightforwardly “Ogling women. Dreaming about sexual acts with female acquaintances. Sexualized what-ifs and double entendres. Rampant masturbation.” His mind would take an innocent phrase and turn it toward a sexual meaning. “Why do these double entendres come to my mind so easily? Should a Christian mind create them so nimbly? And his eyes, “ravenous heat-seekers searching the horizon, locking on any target with sensual heat. Young mothers leaning over in shorts to pull children out of car seats. Soloists with silky shirts. Summer dresses with décolletage.” In sharing these stories, men understand what it is like to be ensnared in a deep pit which many men have escaped to enjoy a healthy sexuality.
