Does My Sexual Sin Invalidate My Faith?

Some thoughts from Samuel L. Perry’s “Addicted to Lust” compiled by David Vraza MA.

Perry outlines the basic religious argument — a true believer will demonstrate a life changed by Jesus. A life of habitual sin is incompatible with a life in Jesus. “Pornography and porn-fueled masturbation are extremely problematic in this regard because they are not only recurrent but also almost always conscious and premeditated.” The shame of failing to live a “changed” life leads to withdrawing from God and other Christians.

What does it mean to consistently and willfully violate a moral value at the core of your social identity? How does that effect your relationship with God, yourself, and others? Come and join us at NewPath on Monday evenings to peel back the lies and connotation that exacerbate the effect of pornography use on our lives.
